Day 1 – Introduction to the Oil & Gas Industry

  • - Activity: Identify major basins and producing regions on maps

Day 2 – Drilling Rigs and Well Construction Basics

  • - Types of drilling rigs and rig components
  • - Basic well design: casing, cementing, and wellhead equipment
  • - Drilling fluids and their functions
  • - Well control principles and BOP basics
  • - Exercise: Label parts of a rig schematic

Day 3 – Production Facilities and Surface Equipment

  • - Surface production systems: separators, tanks, flowlines
  • - Artificial lift systems: ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift
  • - Gathering and transportation of oil and gas
  • - Surface facility safety measures
  • - Workshop: Identify key equipment in production facility diagrams

Day 4 – Wellsite Safety and HSE Fundamentals

  • - Field hazards and safe work practices
  • - Personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols
  • - Permit-to-work systems and confined space entry
  • - Emergency response and evacuation procedures
  • - Activity: Conduct a simulated job safety analysis (JSA)

Day 5 – Field Visit / Integrated Field Operations

  • - Optional field trip to an active wellsite or production facility
  • - Observation of daily operations and safety practices
  • - Interactions with field personnel and technical staff
  • - Review and discussion of key learnings from the course
  • - Capstone Project: Present a summary of field operations and safety recommendations
